KOSEN Universal Cast Steel Check Valves are designed and manufactured to comply with international standards such as API 6D, BS 1868, ASME B16.34, or equivalent. They are engineered to minimize flow resistance and pressure drop, making them suitable for horizontal installations only. The lapped and screwed-in seat ring ensures a tight shutoff and long-lasting service life.
The valve's disc is precisely designed, accurately machined, and guided to enable efficient automatic shutoff at zero pressure. The valve features a compact structure and low-emission service. In its standard configuration, the swing check valve has a bolted cover and a free-swinging clapper, which responds to the prevailing flow conditions.
Swing check valves are ideal for horizontal pipeline installations. However, if the disc weight is too heavy, issues like chattering may occur. In such cases, dampers or counterweights should be provided.

Product Features
» Cast steel swing check valve prevents backflow in the line. Flow is directed in a straight line through the valve, minimizing pressure drop. The disc swings open as media flows through the line, and back pressure holds the disc in the closed position.
» Installation flexibility: Cast steel swing check valves can be installed in both horizontal and vertical lines, but must be positioned according to the media flow direction, indicated by the flow direction arrow marked on the valve body.
» Accessories: A wide range of accessories, such as bypasses, locking devices, counterweights, and others, are available to meet customer requirements.
