» Cast steel swing check valves are designed to prevent backflow in pipelines. The flow through the valve is linear, which results in minimal pressure drop. When the fluid flows through the line, the disc swings open. Conversely, back pressure in the line keeps the disc closed. 
» Cast steel swing check valves can be installed in both horizontal and vertical pipelines. However, they must be installed in the correct orientation relative to the direction of media flow, as indicated by the flow direction arrow marked on the valve body.
