Universal Cast Steel Check Valves are designed and manufactured strictly to international standards such as API 6D, BS 1868, ASME B16.34, or equivalent. These valves are engineered to reduce flow resistance and pressure drop to the minimum possible extent. They are suitable for installation in a horizontal position only. The lapped and screwed seat ring ensures a tight shut-off and long-lasting service.

The valve's disc is perfectly designed, accurately machined, and guided for efficient automatic shut-off at zero pressure. Key features include a compact structure and low-emission service. In its standard configuration, the swing check valve has a bolted cover and a free-swinging clapper. The clapper, which is the closing member, responds to prevailing flow conditions.

Swing check valves are best suited for horizontal pipeline installation. However, for heavier disc weights, chattering issues can occur. In such cases, dampers or counterweights should be provided.
