Cast Steel Globe Valves are designed and manufactured to achieve VOC leakage of less than 100 ppm (parts per million). Extensive baseline laboratory testing, including both static and cycle testing, has been conducted to establish the critical design parameters required for low-emission sealing in the KOSEN stem packing seal area and bonnet gasket sealing area. An in-house testing procedure has been developed and is regularly performed to ensure that the standard product design and manufacturing criteria consistently meet the requirement of a maximum 100 ppm VOC leakage prior to shipment.
