Separation Methods of Metal and Plastic

1. Metal trap
Transport crush waste by pipeline, using metal trap to separate metal chips of 0.75-1.2 mm diameter in the process of transmission.

2. Electrostatic separator
Crush the adulterant and put it into electrostatic separator, taking advantage of different electric properties of metal and plastic, copper, aluminum and other metals can be isolated. This method is suitable for metal filling composite materials, cable materials and metallized plastic process.

3. Dissolve separation
Dip coated metal parts with plastic coating into nonionic surfactant with methylene chloride, suspension slurry with paraffin wax and water, to dissolve plastic coating.

4. Embrittlement separation
Cool the mixed waste plastics made of metal and plastic to brittle temperature, crush it, then apply the wind screen separation method to separate metal and plastic.

5. Detachment of cable sheath
Wire and outer materials of cable mainly include PVC, polyethylene (including cross linking polyethylene) and synthetic rubber as well as natural rubber. Besides electrostatic separation above mentioned, there are dry method and temperature method to make plastic, rubber and copper, aluminum conductor separate effectively. 
a. Dry method: apply infrared device to evenly heat the inner part of cables, and then strip skins artificially.
b. Temperature method: dip aluminum wire into the soaking agent (surfactant) solution, strip the skin after being heated to 70-90 degrees, then, clean several times with organic solvent in a row and remove tar thoroughly.
