The G4N gate valve, part of the GROVE valve portfolio, is constructed from welded steel plates with forged rolled ends. For larger sizes and higher pressure classes, the valve body is reinforced with multiple welded ribs. The pressure-containing plates undergo sandblasting and ultrasonic inspection. Both the gate and the seats are floating components. An initial seal at very low differential pressure is achieved by a series of springs behind the seats that push against the gate.
