A metal-seated butterfly valve (frequently engineered as a triple-offset butterfly valve) is a high-performance rotary valve where both the disc sealing edge and the body seat are constructed from durable metals or hard-faced alloys instead of elastomeric or polymer materials. This metal-to-metal configuration utilizes a specialized triple-eccentric geometry: the first offset shifts the shaft behind the sealing plane; the second moves the shaft centerline away from the bore centerline; and the third shapes the seat into an asymmetrical cone.
