A PFA lined plug valve is a heavy-duty, quarter-turn chemical isolation valve featuring an internal flow conduit and tapered plug fully encapsulated in a dense, melt-processable Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) fluoropolymer liner to protect the structural metal body from aggressive media. Unlike sintered PTFE linings, which are pressed from powder and retain microscopic voids, PFA is injected as a molten liquid that cools into a solid, non-porous barrier; this uniform molecular structure delivers superior resistance to liner blistering and chemical permeation, completely blocking volatile gas or steam molecules from diffusing through to rot the underlying metal. The valve achieves a cavity-free, bubble-tight plastic-to-plastic seal during its 90-degree rotation without requiring external lubrication, making it an essential specification across chemical processing networks for managing concentrated acids, hot brines, and chlorine gas lines.
