When the twin seal orbit valve is fully open, the plug channel aligns perfectly with the valve body channel, ensuring minimal pressure drop. Turning the handwheel in the valve’s direction rotates the plug, which in turn drives the valve disc to rotate 90 degrees. As the handwheel is further rotated, the plug moves downward, causing the valve to open on both sides. The valve disc is then tightly pressed against the valve seat, effectively closing the valve.
When rotating the handwheel in the opposite direction, the plug first moves upwards, releasing the valve disc from the seat. Continuing to rotate the handwheel, the plug then drives the valve disc to rotate 90 degrees. Finally, the plug channel aligns with the valve body channel once more, leaving the valve fully open.
