The globe valve body can be mainly designed into three types, including the T-pattern body, Y-pattern body and angle pattern body.
T-pattern body design

The T-pattern valve body is the most commonly used, but it offers the highest flow resistance among the above-mentioned body designs due to its tortuous flow passage. T-pattern globe valves have a low flow characteristic and a large pressure drop. And they can be used for rapid throttling.
T-pattern globe valves can also be used in the occasion where only throttling is required without considering the pressure drop. The T-pattern valve body has three structures.
Angle body design

When the angle globe valve is installed near the bend of the pipeline, it has two advantages. First, compared with the T-pattern globe valve, the flow resistance of the angle globe valve is greatly reduced. Secondly, using the angle body design can lower the use of the pipe joint. Also, the angle globe valve can replace the elbow.
The angle pattern globe valve is used in applications with pulsating flow, because it has the ability to handle the slugging effect of this flow.
Y-pattern body design

Y-pattern body design is to minimize the flow resistance of the valve. Y-pattern globe valves have low flow resistance and durable sealing surfaces when they are opened and closed.
Y-pattern globe valves offer the smallest flow resistance among the globe valves with other body designs, and can be slightly opened for a long time without serious erosion.

- The S-shaped body
- The Globe-shaped body
- The Z-shaped body
