A PTFE-sleeved plug valve is a non-lubricated, quarter-turn rotary isolation valve that utilizes a tapered or straight metal plug rotating within a full-containment polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE/Teflon) sleeve locked securely inside the valve body. As the plug turns 90 degree to isolate or permit flow, the compressed, high-density PTFE sleeve acts as a continuous, low-friction sealing surface, filling all internal body cavities to eliminate fluid trapping and ensure a bubble-tight shutoff. Unlike traditional lubricated plug valves, this non-lubricated design requires no regular sealant injections, eliminates process fluid contamination, and prevents the plug from jamming or seizing even after extended periods of inactivity.
