The disc of a tilting disc check valve has a pivot point at its center, designed to address the weaknesses of general swing check valves. Compared to the swing type, the tilting disc check valve remains fully open and steady at lower flow rates. In contrast, the swing check valve requires higher fluid velocity to keep the disc open and has a higher cracking pressure. In low-pressure situations, the pressure drop of a tilting disc check valve is significantly lower than that of a swing type. However, at higher flow rates, the tilting disc check valve experiences a higher pressure drop than the swing type.
