Cast Steel Gate Valves are designed and manufactured to limit leakage of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to less than 100 ppm (parts per million). Extensive baseline laboratory testing, including both static and cycle tests, has established the critical design parameters required to achieve reliable low-emission sealing in the stem packing and bonnet gasket areas. An in-house testing procedure has been developed and is performed periodically to ensure that all standard design and manufacturing criteria are consistently met. This guarantees that each Cast Steel Gate Valve achieves a maximum VOC leakage of 100 ppm prior to shipment.
