The Automatic Recirculation Valve is a protective device for centrifugal pumps. It automatically safeguards the pump from cavitation damage or instability, particularly when conveying hot water or other media at low load operation. If the pump flow falls below the preset threshold, the bypass fully opens to maintain the minimum required flow for the pump. Even with zero flow (i.e., when the pump is running fully closed), the bypass ensures that the minimum flow is maintained for automatic recirculation. Pressure is reduced through a multi-stage pressure-reducing bypass valve.

The Pump Protection Valve is suitable for high-pressure differential bypass applications, with a maximum pressure differential of 30 MPa. The specific selection is determined by the factory. The multistage decompression (M-type) bypass helps eliminate noise caused by high-speed flow, and prevents damage from cavitation erosion and excessive wear on valve components.
