The Cummins KTA50 generator set is a fully integrated power generation system designed for optimal performance, reliability, and versatility across various applications, including stationary standby, prime power, and continuous duty.
Engine: Equipped with a rugged Cummins heavy-duty 4-cycle industrial diesel engine, known for its reliability, low emissions, and quick response to load changes.
Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG): Provides enhanced motor starting and fault-clearing capabilities, ensuring reliable operation under various conditions.
Alternator: Features several size options for selectable motor starting capability. The alternator includes low reactance 2/3 pitch windings, low waveform distortion for non-linear loads, fault-clearing short-circuit capability, and class F or H insulation for durability and efficiency.
Control System: Includes the PowerCommand® electronic control system for comprehensive integration. It offers remote start/stop, precise frequency and voltage regulation, alarm and status message display, AmpSentry™ protection, output metering, and auto-shutdown capabilities.
Cooling System: Comes with a standard integral set-mounted radiator system, designed and tested for rated ambient temperatures. This simplifies facility design requirements for heat rejection.
Enclosures: Optional weather-protective and sound-attenuated enclosures are available to enhance durability and reduce noise.
