The Scheme to Overhaul the Natural Gas Ball Valve

Preparations
1. The overhaul of the natural gas ball valve must be reported to the direct manager in advance. The valve can be maintained under the supervision of the monitor with the permission of the manager.
2. Prepare all kinds of tools and fire-fighting equipment needed for maintenance.
The overhaul process
1. Slowly loosen bolts of the ball valve drain; observe the pollution discharge of the ball valve. Without the continuous emission of gas, the valve has good sealing.
2. If there is an continuous emission of gas, the ball valve is not closed tightly and has internal leakage. The valve should be cleaned and greased. Use the grease nipple to feed the cleaning solution into the valve cavity with a grease gun and then clean the valve. Open the valve drain to discharge the waste liquid. If there is more dirt in the valve cavity, clean it several times. After cleaning, feed sealing grease into the valve cavity. Tighten bolts of the ball valve drain after the check for the air tightness of the valve.
3. Open the protective cover of the ball valve actuator; check the lubrication of the actuator; remove the dried grease; replenish the lubricating oil; then replace the protective cover.
4. Open and close the ball valve three times respectively. Pay attention to check whether the valve has abnormal noise and whether the opening and closing of the valve is flexible. After finishing the inspection, resume the operation of the valve if there is nothing wrong with the valve.
5. Clear away the equipment and tools, and put the tools back into the toolbox.
Matters needing attention
1. Maintainers must take orders from the command staff on the site and clear their respective responsibilities.
2. Technical and safety disclosure shall be performed to the workers before maintenance work.
3. Flammables, explosives and fire sources are not allowed within 10 meters of the operation area. And a safe operating area should be set beyond twenty-meter radius around the operating point.
4. Maintenance workers must wear personal protective equipment and be supervised by the monitor. The monitor should check whether there are violations and stop them in time.
5. Explosion-proof tools and equipment must be used in the operation area.
6. Before workers enter the valve chamber, the manhole cover should be opened for ventilation (natural ventilation for 2 hours and forced ventilation for no less than 30 minutes). After there is nothing wrong with the valve chamber, the related workers must wear the gas mask and enter the chamber. Safety operation regulations of the company must be observed during operation. Violations are strictly prohibited.
7. The valve must be opened and closed slowly.
8. In case of rainy days and other abnormal occurrences, stop the operation, and timely report to the commander staff on the site for decision-making.
