As the most important molding equipment for injection molding products, the quality of injection mold is directly related to that of products. Moreover, because the mold occupies a large proportion in the production cost of injection molding enterprises, its service life directly affects the cost of injection molding products. Therefore, improving the quality of injection mold, maintaining it well and prolonging its service life are important issues for injection molding products processing enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency.Because of the variety of products and frequent mold replacement in injection molding products processing enterprises, after completing one production cycle, the molds are generally put into storage and kept until the next production cycle comes. However, some processing enterprises don't pay enough attention to mold preservation, which leads to corrosion and surface smoothness decline during the preservation period, resulting in product quality decline and high rejection rate. Some molds are even difficult to reuse, so it is inevitable to re-invest a lot of money to set up new molds, resulting in great waste.
Data show that use and maintenance account for 15% ~ 20% of the influencing factors of mold service life. The service life of injection mold can generally reach 800,000 times of use, and some well-maintained molds abroad can even be extended based on that by 2 ~ 3 times. However, due to neglect of maintenance in domestic enterprises, the service life of injection mold is relatively short, which is only 1/5 ~ 1/3 of that in foreign countries. The short service life of dies lead to the waste of steel processing time and energy and the loss caused by the impact on product quality amount to billions of yuan every year. Therefore, it is very important to do some maintenance for the injection mold.
