Oil Country Tubular Goods is mainly used for drilling and transporting oil and gas well, including two major categories, oil well pipeline(drill pipe, drill collar, casing, tubing, etc.) and oil and gas pipeline. According to the purpose, the oil well pipe can be divided into drill pipe, drill collar, casing and tubing. In terms of the consumption structure of oil well pipe, the consumption proportion of casing, tubing and drill pipe is stable. They respectively account for 75%, 22% and 3%. According to the standard, the oil well pipe is divided into an American petroleum institute (API) pipe and the non-API pipe. The production and inspection of API oil well pipe is strictly in accordance with API standard, whose characteristics are mature technology and strong commonality. The production and inspection of non-API oil well pipe is not in accordance with or not completely in accordance with API standard. It is the individualized product that the factory develops according to user’s requirements, or to satisfy some special use performance, belonging to the manufacturer's patent product. The non-API OCTG is produced in the early 1980 s. As the service condition of oil well pipe changes, over the past 20 years, non-API pipe developed gradually, which has reached about 200 kinds of varieties. The production accounts for about 35% of the total of oil well pipe.
